We make WaveTags from high quality materials, so with normal use there is no risk of a WaveTag breaking. Should one break anyway, do get in touch and we will offer you a discount on a new one.

NFC (Near Field Communication) is a wireless technology that allows fast and secure data exchange between two devices held close together (within a few centimetres). NFC works by electromagnetic induction: one device (your smartphone) creates a magnetic field that powers and activates the other device (the WaveTag). Data is transferred this way without pairing the devices or using complicated apps.
Where is NFC on phones?
- On iPhones the NFC chip sits at the top of the back of the phone, near the camera. On newer models (iPhone XS and later) NFC is active automatically. On older models (e.g. iPhone 7 and 8) NFC has to be switched on.
- On Android phones the position of the NFC chip depends on the manufacturer and the model. Most often NFC is on the back of the phone, usually in the middle or closer to the top. On Android devices it is also common that NFC has to be enabled in the settings (usually under Connections or Network & wireless connections).
The WaveTag system is completely free in its basic form. For advanced services there is WaveTag Pro, which you can try free for a month. WaveTag therefore requires no monthly subscription for the basic use of the products. WaveTag Pro is purely optional and focuses on extended features such as collecting contacts back, sending automated emails and other functions that support sales.
